Toddler Community

Our Classes
  • The Toddler Community program is a beautiful space built for those who can walk 16months – 30 months. The classroom is divided into 5 main areas:

    Practical Life

Movement of Objects: The practical life exercises give the child opportunities to move themselves and move furniture or materials around the classroom freely. Grace and Courtesy is demonstrated to the toddlers through modeling it we use respect so they can feel it. Toilet learning (potty training) is part of practical life: self-care the toddlers are given lots of opportunities to toilet learn and care for themselves by dressing and undressing step-by-step with the teacher’s guidance. Food Preparation is an amalgamation of lessons. Care of self and others: feeding self and others, cleaning up and after self and others, we as the teachers and guides acknowledge their works of service by thanking them for helping to prepare food for snack today.

Toddlers have a huge curiosity and deep desire to communicate. In a toddler Montessori classroom, we aim to provide them with a rich vocabulary by providing them with a robust area of the classroom dedicated to language. The language area is comprised of objects that are real, cards with real-life pictures, books and intangible lessons of language throughout the environment.

    Psycho-sensory Motor

This area is for fine motor activities, puzzles gluing cutting, sewing, stamping, stickering and stereognostic bags (sensory bags with
    different real objects in them)
